Have you ever thought that you would like to share your faith with others and what God has done in your life but didn’t know how to go about it? In this article I will show you how easy it is to write an inspirational article. Once you are done reading it, you will be ready to tackle the job no problem.
Jesus wants you to share your faith and what better place to do it but on the internet! You never know the lives you will touch by doing this one simple thing. Trust me I know. I have had 1000’s of people be touched by the simple things I do in writing. So take a moment, get a cup of coffee and let me share with you some of the things I have learned over the years about writing an article.
Write from your experience! None of you need to be theologians or pastors or bible scholars to share your experiences with people. In fact the best articles are those that come from experience. Even the Apostle Luke wrote about the things he saw and heard while with Jesus. So take his example and write about the things you have seen and heard while getting to know Jesus.
Use personal stories and illustrations in your article. Let people get to know you! Nothing is more boring than someone just getting up and sermonizing. Learn from Jesus who was the master of using examples from life to make a point.
Ask questions. Nobody likes to be told what to do. Instead lead them down a path of reason with questions. Show them the process of how you came to your conclusions.
Don’t assume that your readers are at the same point of their Christian walk as you are. In other words, don’t assume that they are well versed in the bible, or that they are at the same maturity point as you. In fact I would recommend you assume that they are a brand new Christian and that they need it to be simple.
Finally if you are going to tackle a tough or controversial issue, do it with grace. It is much easier to lead a donkey if you offer a carrot rather than beat him with a stick. Show humility and acknowledge that the issue is tough. Do not come off as a know it all. People respect when you are honestly a seeker of truth, rather than a demander of conformity.
If you will take these simple steps you can write an article that will transform lives. I know, I have been doing it for years now and it has paid off in many ways including being allowed to do a weekly column in my local newspaper.
